The Tech Acquisitions Story

Roger and Jonathan bring over 50 years of combined experience in the telecoms and IT sectors. Throughout their careers, they’ve successfully built and exited several businesses, including Worldwide, Global Net Telecom, and Selective Networks. They identified a growing need to integrate telecoms and IT services and acquired an IT business, scaled it, and later sold it as well.

In speaking with other business owners, they noticed a common theme: many smaller business owners were ready to step back or sell. However, they were often overlooked by larger buyers and faced brokerage fees that didn’t align with the size of their businesses.

In response, Roger and Jonathan developed a more accessible, tailored approach and Tech Acquisitions Ltd was born.

Roger Gooden

CEO

This is Roger, one half of the ownership here at Tech Acquisitions. Roger has over 30 years experience in the telecoms industry. From his earliest days as an apprentice, to owning & selling telecoms businesses, Roger has been there, done that and got the t-shirt! You’ll meet Roger when it’s time to get serious about selling and he’ll be on hand to help you structure your deal, with a perfectly tailored solution for you. Having been in your shoes many times, you really are in a safe pair of hands.

Jonathan Rutter

COO

This is Jonathan, one half of the ownership at Tech Acquisitions. Jonathan set up his first telecoms business at the age of 25, which he successfully ran for 8 years before Roger approached him to buy. Jonathan’s acceptance marked the start of a blossoming partnership and since then the pair have bought, grown and sold a dozen or more businesses together so far. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll find Jonathan getting into the detail of an acquisition or focusing on the operational management of the acquisitions we retain. He’s the perfect ‘yin’ to Roger’s big-picture ‘yang’.

Mark Clayton

Head of Sales

Mark’s role is all about building relationships with business owners who may be open to exploring a sale. He walks them through the initial stages of an acquisition, aiming to get a broad view of their business, before giving them an initial valuation. Mark’s job puts him in touch with some incredible business owners and hearing their tales of success inspires his own passion for investment. When he’s not working, he’s spending time with his fiance & planning their dream wedding.

Eden Young

Operations Director

If there is a man who can, it’s Eden! Eden gets involved pre-acquisition assessing businesses from an operational point of view. Post acquisition he works closely with Jonathan handling everything from technical infrastructure & troubleshooting to creating efficiencies in operational processes. Eden is involved in it all. He says he loves the variety of his work, which is a good job since there is plenty to keep him busy!

Fiona provides essential business support in her role as Executive Assistant.

Kate Bagnall

Commercial Director

Kate ran her own successful recruitment business for 14 years prior to becoming a certified business coach and NLP practitioner. She brings some of the best, tried and tested expertise to our team, focusing on maximising our business growth. Whether that’s improving our own processes or optimising sales opportunities, Kate is helping to drive Tech Acquisitions forward. When she’s not doing that, she’s taking well earned down time, walking her dogs or being a taxi service to her two daughters.
