Mark is our Head of Sales, responsible for building relationships with business owners who may be open to exploring a sale. He walks them through the initial stages of an acquisition, aiming to get a broad view of their business, before giving them an initial valuation.
Mark’s Background
Mark originally comes from Greater Manchester, having moved to Leeds for university back in 2015. He met his girlfriend – now fiancé – and the pair have decided to stay in Leeds. Mark first met Jonathan when he applied to work for Selective Networks as their BD team’s Lead Generator. This role saw him lay the foundations for what was to come with Tech Acquisitions, which later evolved.
“My role now is very much about researching the market opportunities on behalf of Tech Acquisitions. If I find an organisation that fits our profile, I will carry out all the due diligence to establish whether or not there is an opportunity for us to support them. That might include looking into their supplier network or their financials, or even making contact with the owner to give an initial valuation. Beyond that, if there is interest in selling their business to us, I will make the introductions to Roger.”
The part that Mark finds so satisfying, is learning about the back-stories of the businesses and their owners. How they got into business and how things have gone for them over the years.
“There’s always something to learn and I find it so inspiring.” He says.
Outside of work
Mark keeps a keen eye on the investment world, not in a way that he doesn’t get to ‘switch off’, but because he finds it so interesting and wants to learn more about it himself. Aside from that, he enjoys all the creature comforts of being at home with his dog CJ, enjoys his food, socialising and going to the cinema. He’s looking forward to settling down with his fiancé and having their dream wedding and honeymoon.
